$380 AUD
A circa 1968 Italian vases, presented from Sydney by Design Object Sydney. Crafted in glass. A characteristic example of Italian vases from the 1968 period.
The large, heavy-walled vessel of translucent "Verde" green tint, the body featuring a bold relief-molded geometric chevron (zigzag) banding between horizontal rings. Flanked by a pair of integral molded handles, the base with an indented crescent-shaped "MADE IN ITALY" mark.17 ¼ in. (44 cm.) high.Condition: In very good condition, lightly used and carefully stored. Attribution & Markings:While often associated with the American importer Rosenthal Netter due to original distribution labels, this form is a definitive production of the Stelvia factory (Società Toscana Esercizio Lavorazione Vetri Artistici) in the Empoli region of Tuscany. The crescent-shaped "MADE IN ITALY" indentation on the base is characteristic of Stelvia’s mid-century export wares. The heavy, mold-blown texture was a strategic design choice for the "Antiqua" range, intended to evoke the ruggedness of ancient archaeological finds while maintaining a strictly Modernist, Brutalist aesthetic. (The vintage umbrella and stick are not included and only props for the lifestyle shot)
