A Maitland Smith Seagull Form Sculpture in Tessellated Marble Stone Pencil Reed and Brass, Art Deco Revival 1970-1979

This impressive Maitland Smith sculpture of a seagull is beautifully crafted in tessellated stone, limewash pencil reed wings with brass chrome beak and legs. 

These Maitland Smith bids were made by artisans in the Philippines in the 1970-1979 and are distinguishable by their superior quality and craftsmanship. This model is rare and pairs well with the Maitland Smith table stash box we also have listed.

Identifying marks: This piece has a label to the base which identifies it as by the above-mentioned designer/maker. It is also recognised by attributes, literature and documentation of the designers output. 

Condition: very good condition with minor wear to the chromed brass, the rest with minor scratches and wear consistent with age.
