$750 AUD

This stunning set features three smoked/tinted glass jars (model Blåtopp) each with a vibrant blue cover, alongside a matching blue glass bowl—an exceptional example of Scandinavian mid-century craftsmanship by one of Norway’s most esteemed glass designers. A tribute to Willy Johansson's work, this set exemplifies his meticulous attention to detail and timeless design. Similar pieces are featured in prestigious collections worldwide, including at The National Museum in Oslo (The Collection Exhibition V04F - Designing Identities).

Johansson’s work, though often understated, is defined by his commitment to creating well-designed, slow-made pieces for everyday use, alongside his fine art creations. His signature style includes clean lines, simplicity, and substantial forms that evoke both elegance and functionality.

A key figure among the postwar designers at Hadeland Glassverk, Johansson was known for his extensive contributions to the glass industry from 1947 to 1988. Hadeland, Norway’s foremost producer of tableware since 1850, played a significant role in his career, and Johansson’s heritage is rooted in this iconic institution. His father, Johan Wilhelm Johansson, was a glassblower at Hadeland, further cementing the family’s legacy in Norway’s glassmaking history.
